West St Leonards Neighbourhood Forum

Our Purpose:

To help our local community its residents as well as businesses and community groups and workers to meet the needs and challenges of our neighbourhood.

Welcome to the website for West St Leonards Neighbourhood Forum, which is responsible for promoting the improvement, development and protection of the designated neighbourhood area.

In the spring of 2025 with the help of Jim Boot and following the exhibition and visioning day on February 22 as well as the earlier exhibition on January 25 concentrating on the Old Bathing Pool Site we prepared our initial draft neighbourhood plan, click here for our outline plan.

We were expecting a further Government grant of about £7,000 in the financial year 2025-26 to enable us to complete the draft and carry out the public consultation before presenting a final version to Hastings Borough Council. Unfortunately the Government decided to cancel all grants for Neighbourhood forums and since then we have been struggling to advance.

On February 19 Hastings BC published their revised Local Plan and opened if for consultation, with a closing date for consultation of 23.59 on Tuesday April 7.

We are proposing to make a response to this and we are planning an exhibition and workshop to discuss our proposals. This will take place on Saturday March 28 at the West St Leonards Community Centre. There is more information on the news and events tab
